For the third consecutive season, August Getty, Founder and Designer of August Getty Atelier, is presenting in Paris during Couture Week.
After showcasing both CONFETTI and ΣNIGMA collections in the Ritz Paris gardens, it is within the dramatic and historic environment of the Museum of Decorative Arts that August Getty has chosen to reveal his vision of The White Hart for Spring-Summer 2020.
August’s muse, the iconic Getty Girl, has vanished following macabre ending of ΣNIGMA. Now, only memories of her remain: the faintness of her scent, the delicate way she moved, her cryptic presence no longer lingers.
The creatures and vibrations of The White Hart, set a landscape of an enchanted world. A world far away, for healing those in need. Evanescent volumes, exquisite embroideries and a light-filled color palette define the new world created by August Getty for Spring Summer 2020.
Silk organzas, metallic taffetas, custom white on white jacquard faille and custom beads constitute the heart of the collection, with fabrics originating from France, Italy and Switzerland. A three-piece hand embroidery in custom metal disks, all hand cut for placement, has necessited over 3500 hours of work, while a short halter dress has been hand embroidered in over 200 meters of hand folded silk ribbon.
August remarks: “Only when it is truly needed does The White Hart appear, and present its sacred garden to the one in need. A magical place of enchantment and rebirth, protected by a new race, that bears no prejudice, only kindness. A place very much needed after FW19 “ΣNIGMA”, we have lost our Getty Girl, she has disappeared, into the unknown. We can only hope she hears The White Hart’s call.”
